Yoni steaming

Yoni steaming, also known as vaginal steaming, “v-steam”, is an alternative health treatment in which you sit, squat or kneel over steaming water that contains herbs with health benefits. Steaming can be done at home or with a trained professional.

When NOT to steam:

  • If you are ovulating or actively trying to conceive
  • You are or may be pregnant
  • You have an IUD
  • Any active internal infection (cervical, uterine or ovarian)
  • You have any open herpes sores/blisters; you can steam once the area has fully healed
  • You are menstruating
  • You are prone to or experience spontaneous bleeding, you bleed between periods or have 2 periods per month
  • If the weather is extremely hot

Burns are one of the main concerns when it comes to yoni steaming. To have a safe session, first make sure you test the temperature of the water. If you feel any discomfort, no matter how minor it may seem, listen to your body. If at any point, even after you have tested the water, the steam causes you any discomfort stand up.
